It’s You!

Breathing heavily. The pressure kept increasing. He could feel the sweat in the middle of the ocean.

His feet touched a rock, he looked down and watched himself go deeper evading that rock, everything had gone out of control now. He was just feeling the pressure and he could explode anytime now.

He closed his eyes and tried heading towards his happy place. Astonishingly it took him just seconds to reach there and he abruptly ran into smiles.

His eyes glittered while he looked on that bright light and started moving towards that bright light. It was magic, As if Ravana had seen a Kanyakumari. He bent down and touched the grass which was all wet, he gasped fresh air into his lungs and walked; throwing his arms in air. He got up and there it was, a beautiful face smiling at him. Its you! He smiled even more peacefully. It was his first love who chose to move on from him. As she started walking, he kept walking behind her feeling all rejuvenated. He kept following the traces of her amidst all the people walking past him being unnoticed. It was by the far the finest moment of his life. Few more steps and she just vanished in thin air.

He could understand anything and started running haphazardly in search of her. She was nowhere in his sight till he fell down on the ground on his knees after hitting a sharp stone. He looked down, his happy place was gone, the mind palace was about to demolish. He felt a hand on his shoulder, desperate for her presence he quickly got up and turned. It was his mother, glowing like never before. She held his hand and hugged him tight while his tears had already started rolling. He smiled again, looking at her and kissing on her forehead. She took him home, cooked food and they had the best meal together. He had reestablished his happy place. He kept looking at her while she rested hours passed but she didn’t move an inch. He got hungry again and touched her arm to wake her up. She was cold, the coldest thing he had ever touched. He fell on his knees again, this time even harder. Lost and distraught he cried harder still couldn’t get rid of the pain.

He met his best friend in the funeral, whom he had lost touch with. He talked his heart out to him, went out to play basketball, have a drink and what not. He had started to forget the pain and live again, every time he was with him he smiled genuinely and somehow again he was at his happy place. Days had passed and he had not met his best friend, not gone out or talked to anyone. His number was being blocked. This time he couldn’t sense the pain, he just fell again and decided to never get up.

He kept falling down, just seconds more and he would eventually lose his life to the pressure. Body was numb, brain was active. He decided to open his eyes and watch death, he wanted to have a storybook ending. As soon as he opened his eyes, he saw deep blue color. He looked around and eventually summoned all his courage to look down. He saw his reflection. There was nothing beneath his feet yet he was stable, he was floating. He looked at his reflection again, dark circles seemed to vanish.

He kept staring at himself and suddenly burst into a laugh. He smiled involuntarily and soon it became voluntary, he was in-charge of it!

He woke up, looked at his watch opened the windows and took a deep breathe in with a smile after weeks.
